THE ORIGIN OF IIITC: SABRISH CHAND
The journey of IIITC is rooted in the inspiring story of Sabrish Chand. In 2010, residing in India and employed in an underpaid tech job, Sabrish received an unexpected phone call that changed his life. A consultant had abruptly quit on a high-stakes client, and after a promising interview, Sabrish was offered his first overseas opportunity – an irresistible chance that he’d been aspiring towards his whole career.
Setting his footprints in Regina, Canada, Sabrish embarked on his new journey, armed with nothing more than his belongings tucked away in two suitcases. His first encounter with the country was the numbing -40-degree temperature, a stark contrast to the +40s heat he was accustomed to growing up. But this did not dampen his spirits or his determination.
Immediately diving into work, Sabrish quickly earned the nickname “The Finisher” due to his knack for turning around failing projects. In his quest to strengthen the projects, he hired and mentored expensive local IT Contractors. However, he quickly observed a trend:
“The industry is riddled with average contractors who deliver below-average solutions.”
The skilled resources he hired often fell short in delivering the outcomes he envisioned. This led him on a quest for answers, where he discovered a crucial revelation – it wasn’t a lack of technical skills but a deficiency in execution abilities that hindered results.
This realization lit a spark!
Sabrish then dedicated the next 2.5 years to comprehending the business of contracting, culminating in the launch of his first Consulting business in September 2013, where he served as the Principal Consultant.
With a rich tapestry of experience spanning over 50 consultancy projects across two decades, Sabrish identified a pattern. IT consultants were inadvertently causing problems for clients due to a skills gap, and organizations were often initiating projects without prioritizing the key skills required by the people involved.
Spotting an opportunity to rectify these issues and simultaneously empower others, Sabrish launched the IIITC in 2021.
Sabrish understood that people needed the right skills to flourish in the digital era. In line with the age-old wisdom of teaching people to fish to sustain themselves, IIITC was created.
His hope is that, by helping numerous others achieve success, Sabrish’s legacy will be one of transformation and impact. He hopes those he assists will say,
"Yes, he reinvented himself, but to Me, he truly made an impactful difference in my life.”
